Hanns-Seidel-Platz
Neuperlach celebrated its 50th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone in 2017. Between 1967 and 1992, a brand-new district emerged in what was once a largely undeveloped area in southeast Munich. This ambitious project created around 22,700 apartments for 55,000 residents and 24,000 jobs, guided by the principle of „urbanity through density.“ At the time, it was the largest urban development initiative in the Federal Republic of Germany. In recent years, Neuperlach has been undergoing significant transformation. Approximately 200 hectares in the northern and central areas have been designated for urban redevelopment. Urban regeneration concepts for these areas have been developed with active public participation.
