Ackermannbogen

The new district „Am Ackermannbogen“ is nestled between Schwabing and the Olympiapark on a former barracks site. The urban design concept is based on an design by Christian Vogel, together with landscape architect Rita Lex-Kerfers, and features many sustainable aspects. The key concept was to create a wide range of residential buildings on the edge of the Olympic Park. In the Solar Quarter, which was built as part of the German government‘s „Solar District Heating“ pilot project, 40% of the required heating energy is generated by solar collectors, which can be used if needed via a heat storage system. With the project wagnis 4, the housing cooperative „wagnis eG“ was commisioned with the design of multifunctional garden areas on roofs, while the project wagnis 1 is an important neighbourhood centre for the district. In the fourth construction phase, municipal housing company „Münchner Wohnen“ built a new district centre with, among other things, a base for the housing and supply concept „Wohnen im Viertel“.
