OSA Architects, Munich, 2019
Creating something new while preserving the old was achieved by recycling the 14-storey tower with its iconic orange sphere at Rosenheimer Strasse 143 after the surrounding buildings were demolished. Today, the Werksviertel, a dynamically growing urban quarter in Munich, is home to modern offices, hotels, fitness studios and public spaces. The support structure of the high-rise building, completed in 1982, was renovated and supplemented by three new buildings, which create two courtyards with terraces and allow a wide view of the surrounding area.
