The Olympic Park

A successful example of dealing with an important ensemble of the post-war modernism is the Olympic Village. The Olympic Park, designed by the architect Günter Behnisch and landscape architect Günter Grzimek, is unique in its integration of the stadium and sport facilities in its landscape. The famous tent roof structure designed by the architect Frei Otto, made of Plexiglass and steel and connects the Olympic Stadium, Olympic Hall and the Olympic Swimming Hall. This ensemble has become one of the major landmarks of Munich.
